Pholcodine has antitussive
activity similar to, or somewhat greater than, that of Codein.
Pholcodine appears to be devoid of addiction liability. In contrast
to Codeine, Pholcodine is not metabolized to Morphine. Toxicity
studies demonstrate a generally safer profile for Pholcodine than
for Codeine. |
